Home Alone is a series of family comedy films directed by Chris Columbus , Raja Gosnell , Rod Daniel , and Peter Hewitt . The first two films, Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, were based on the adventures of a boy named Kevin McCallister who during the course of the film gets burglars Harry and Marv arrested by using booby traps. The third film, Home Alone 3, has a similar plot but with a new protagonist, Alex Pruitt, and more of a spy theme.
